Private Career Training Institutions Agency (of BC)
On November 22, 2004, the Private Career Training Institutions Agency (PCTIA) succeeded the Private Post-Secondary Education Commission of BC (PPSEC) as the regulatory agency for private training institutions in the province of BC. The Agency is given its authority by the Province of British Columbia, Canada, Ministry of Advanced Education, under the Private Career Training Institutions Act, Regulations, and Bylaws.
The Private Career Training Institutions Agency (PCTIA) has responsibility under the Private Career Training Institutions Act to: Provide consumer protection to the students and prospective students of registered institutions; Establish standards of quality that must be met by accredited institutions; Establish and manage the Student Training Completion Fund.
