You may have seen the good news story in the Vancouver Sun
about how B.C. helped Polly Nahar to get a good job. She studied hard and
completed her Construction Technician program at Vancouver Central College.
Here is a link to the Vancouver Sun article in case you missed it:

Polly is just one of many such success stories at Vancouver Central College. In addition to the courses,
we provided materials and one-on-one help in preparing Polly for her
interview with AMEC; and her AutoCAD instructor provided AMEC with an
extensivetelephone reference. We are proud to help newcomers to Canada in
this way.
Polly's experience of having an unrecognized degree and then upgrading her
skills to gain entry to a related area of work is common to many newcomers
and one of the things we do well at Vancouver Central College. It is our
mission.
Together we are making a difference. Congratulations Polly!
