Forum for International Trade Training (FITT), Canada’s centre for international trade training and certification, is a national not-for-profit, professional organization. FITT is committed to developing and providing quality programs and professional certification in international trade designed to prepare businesses and individuals to compete successfully in world markets.

This Program provides you with the knowledge you need to engage in international trade in Canada and abroad. If you are already exporting, providing services to exporters, or are contemplating a move into the global arena, you’ll benefit from the practical information offered in this program. The program covers key aspects of international trade: export-readiness, import, market research, international marketing, financing, and logistics and distribution.
You’ll learn to identify market opportunities, leverage your resources to secure financing and insurance services, and negotiate partnerships with foreign shippers and distributors. The most common pitfalls to avoid in your export and import venture are also highlighted in the program.
Certified International Trade Professional designation (C.I.T.P.)
C.I.T.P designation is issued by FITT. Educational requirement is completion of the 8 FITT modules required by FITT for the Forum for International Trade Diploma, and work experience requirement is one year.
Canadian International Freight Forwarders Association (Ciffa)
Students develop a general knowledge of freight forwarding methods and procedures and the four primary modes of the transport of goods in Canada and abroad. Students will become adept at understanding problems and making decisions in international freight forwarding.
